Kei a koe he pukapuka? asks if a book is with you (locative possession).
He pukapuka āu? asks if you own a book (possessive).
Negation differs: Kāore he pukapuka kei a au (none with me) versus Kāore āku pukapuka (I own none, using plural possessive).
